BAG League Constitution

Article 1) The organization will be known as the Businesses Allied in Golf League, or B.A.G. and will be composed of businesses and their employees of the community. All applications for admission must pass the Board.

Article 2) The purpose of the League is to engage in competitive golf, further interest in the game and to promote sportsmanship and fellowship among the players of the participating business’ teams.

Article 3) The controlling body will be known as the Board of Directors and will be composed of one representative of each team in the League. These team captains will each have one vote.

Article 4) The Board of Directors will be empowered to:
a) Draw and approve bylaws.
b) Direct the activities of the League for the benefit of its members.
c) Vote on teams for admission.
d) Nominate and elect League officers.

Article 5) The League Officers will be empowered to:
a) President: presides at all meetings, appoints special committees and casts one vote when the Board’s vote is tied.
b) Secretaries: one each for Tuesday and Thursday to keep records, post results and handicaps regularly, collect fees, acquire purchases and dispense prizes.
c) These officers will be known as the Executive Committee and may not also be Board members.

Article 6) A quorum requires one member more than 50% of the Board.

Article 7) The constitution and bylaws may be amended by a vote of 2/3 of the Board, providing all members are notified one week in advance of a vote consideration.
